The walk to the shops is straightforward and takes about 10 minutes but there are pleanty of taxis who last time we were there charged £1 per person. There are plenty of shops (names you know) but depending on what day you dock some may be closed.

Depends a little on where you are docked but it should be about half a mile. Just remember that, from Gibraltar, there is a limit of 200 cigarettes per person whereas from Spain you can bring in as many as you like, within reason, if they are for your personal use as the VAT will have been paid. Not so in Gibraltar. ... Neil .

We went to gibraltar in June there was a shuttle bus into town, we were lucky to be met by friends that live there and they took us to the cheapest place, &11 for 200 the assistant said for Uk it was 5 cartons each and gave us 2 receipts. As you go into the square into the sreet British Home stores is on your right about 9 shops on the right is the shop. We had no trouble at customs on return home. I wish you a lovely holiday. by the way also bought 10 cartons at Barcelona. customs said we were allowed 3200 each.
