OVERVIEW: Carnival Ecstasyis the second in a series of eight almost identical ships in theCarnival Fantasy-class ships. Although externally angular and not at all handsome, this is nonetheless a popular ship - aimed at anyone taking their first cruise.

Ocean Princess

OVERVIEW: This ship is best suited to young and not-so-young couples, and older singles who like to mingle in a small ship setting with pleasing, sophisticated surroundings and lifestyle, reasonably good entertainment and fairly decent food and service, all at an affordable price.

A Viking we will go, Stockholm
View of Royal Caribbean Jewel of the Seas in the Geiranger Fjord in June 2012 Looking down Harwich Quay, with Jewel of the Seas in the background One of the best ways to relax is at sea, amazing! Jewel has loads of windows making it very light inside the ship. Dave having a well deserved beer. Im having a tall gin in Tallinn Estonia, was a very hot day in August, its a lovely place to visit. The beautiful Jewel of the Seas.... Centrium on Jewel of the Seas, live music at certain times, plus a great place to relax and people watch.

Great ship, cabin steward excellent, cabins a decent size for cruise ship. The waiting staff in main restaurant couldn't do enough to please. We were a table of all British travellers and they arranged for one of the English chefs to come to our table for a...  Read More >>

The holiday of life time is how I would describe our cruise to Russia. On board the variety of food, was first class,as was the service. Our cabin,on a lower deck, was spotless, compact and adequate The slight throbbing of the engine did not hinder...  Read More >>

We are first time cruisers with RCC and from friends and research the drinks seem to be exceedlingly expensive - far dearer than the other two cruise companies we have been with. Any suggestions for us as we do like wine with our meals. Do we go teetotal for 2 weeks ? I will not pay over £6 for a beer than have 15% service charge What will a bottle of good wine cost ?

Guessing the other two lines weren't American or Italian, RCI's prices aren't hugely different to other US lines. But yes, expensive, and most Brits consequently drink a whole lot less & drink more free tea/coffee/lemonade from the buffets..............Wilba quotes from $26 for white - its the same for reds. About £20 incl the 15% for a bottle which would cost mebbe £14 on a UK ship or in a pub. Far from special but perfectly drinkable. ........That's the house wine, but do check carefully, they have more expensive wines which they also call "house wines" & not all bars offer the cheapest. ......... Just look at it as the total cost of your holiday. The drinks on RCI are more expensive than some (but certainly not all) cruise lines, but the cost you pay for the cruise on a RCI ship is probably much cheaper than the cruise cost of the lines that have "cheap drinks" therefore your total cost of your holiday will probably be cheaper on your RCI cruise. You did not say which other cruise lines you have sailed on.

I think you are thinking in pounds not dollars, you will get a beer for $6 and spirits are larger measures than in the UK.

Wines start at about $26 for white. Expect to pay $38 + 15% for a decent Red.........Cruising has never been cheaper so expect to pay a little OTT for drinks and services..........Wilba
