Serenade of the Seas

OVERVIEW: Life aboard is more casual and unstructured than is often the case with Royal Caribbean International. This ship offers more space, more comfortable public areas, and several more intimate spaces, slightly larger cabins and more dining options than most of the larger ships in the fleet. Bu

MINI CRUISES

This was the first time that my wife and I have cruised. What an experience! Cruise ship was Azura evening dining in the Oriental Restaurant, faultless food and service. In fact the whole dining experience including the buffet was a real pleasure...  Read More >>

The Dream is great in size but the staff do a super job to keep you special. We stayed in an inside staterrom which was of an acceptable size with a virtual porthall, there was space under the bed to fit our suitcase...  Read More >>

We are just back from the Victory. To answer your question - you husband does not need a tux. I would suggest he wears a good suit or good chinos and blazer. As for your self - well as a guy - a frock that you would see on the Good Ole Days may fit the bill nicely ..........lol .........Seriously as others have said a good dress or trousers suit seem to be the order of the day

We recently went on our first cruise and like you, were worried about the tuxedo/evening dress thing. However, after reading many comments on this site we decided to 'go with the flow' and we were certainly glad we did. We had a wonderful time - the formal evenings are really occassions with everyone (second dinner sitting) taking part. Couples were having photo's taken, etc and generally it was a more 'party' atmosphere. We were sold on cruising and have since booked two more - at least the tuxedo will get used and I NEED more evening wear. (well that's my excuse) Have a wonderful time.

Both DJ and dark lounge suit are acceptable and whatever length of dress you like. Choose something you feel comfortable in. There's nothing worse than hitching up your top and adjusting straps all evening! Have a lovely time. Judith

The 2 Carnival cruises I have been on most have made the effort on Formal nights. As for long dresses, I see less and less on all cruises, women now tend to wear shorter cocktail dresses or trousers & tops. ...Wilba
