If you are expecting an answer, you may like to list these South American countries you are visiting as on checking all Discovery 2 cruises up until April 2019, not one of them visits South America!

Check the unit of Currency for each port of call work out how much you want to spend toddle along to M&S and buy your currency. You should also be able buy currency when on board but chances are the exchange rate will be poor. Suggest you use a Credit Card for any major purchases ashore. I sure that you will also find Cash Points in most Ports where you can purchase local currency.

You get the appropriate currency for each country in which you expect to make a purchase.
