Radiance of the Seas

OVERVIEW: Radiance of the Seasoffers a decent amount of space, comfortable public areas, and slightly larger cabins than some RCI ships for younger, active travelers. By Blewitt, Reading on 22nd Apr 2014
We have just returned from a 10 night southern Caribbean cruise from Miami on the NCL Sun, our third NCL cruise. We decided to spend 2 nights in Miami pre-cruise and stayed in the Bayside area of Miami, a safe area to stay and only 5 minutes taxi ride...  Read More >>

Has anyone noticed the price of P&Os cruise to the Caribbean on Azura on Friday, January 6, 2012, in their First Edition brochure 2012, £1,709 for an inside cabin with £25pp obc. I think that they are having a laugh or is it just me. This is round about a £500 increase on the same cruise this year. As someone pointed out a few weeks ago, there are always alternatives to P&O. I look forward to your comments.

Solender has just beaten me to it! Two year's ago the lead-in price (for the Ventura, as Azura wasn't available then) was £1549, and last year, as stated, Azura was £1599 in the 1st edition of the brochure and £1699 in the 2nd edition. I'm not sure, then, how you are coming up with your £500 increase, unless you'd been looking at last minute deals for Jan 2010? The apd taxes alone, especially on long-haul flights, has had a significant impact on fly/cruise prices so this, along with other rising, unavoidable costs, have to be covered somehow.

I have just looked up last years 1st edition catalogue and the comparison is £1599 less £100 early bird savings. ie a difference of £210! Since then, you have to take into account the vast increase in air passenger duty and the fuel supplement. You can't blame it all on P&O!

As it more a comment than a question why put it it on the Forum ?

A lot of people complain about the expensive prices of drinks on Royal Caribbean and Celebrity Cruises, and how much cheaper they are on P&O. Just do a comparison of a like for like cruise with both companies then you can see why the RCI/ Celebrity option is so much better value for money especially if you can afford the higher end accommodation. We stick to Celebrity cruises as they are all round the best cruises and the best value for money
