Lots of car parking at southampton - you can book through AB CAr Parking or there are frequent services to Southampton by train and if you book your train ticket early you can get good fares.

You can either arrange to drive up to the cruise terminal and have your car driven away and parked for you (many agents offer free parking when you book!). Catch a train to Southampton Central station which is a 5 minute taxi ride from the port, or arrange a coach pickup from Colchester to the ship. Visit www.fredolsencruises.com. Click on About Cruising. Click on Departure Ports. Click on England. Click on Southampton. You can then go through all the options available to get you to the port! Happy cruising.

From Vickery, Colchester. Hire a car from a national company and leave at their Southampton depot (this is cheaper than parking). You can then arrange to be picked up from the airport or get a taxi back.

Hundreds actually thousands of people lumped onto a vessel, fighting for space and corralled for a least a week . No- not for me. On the other hand , if your partner is employed by one of the largest cruise travel agenci...

Well I am back from my Italian holiday and I paid a visit to Trento, the capital city of Trentino Alto Adige in the north of Italy nestled between the Alps. The drive to Trento was lovely and the view driving through by car was amazing, we were surrounded my mountain by their white tips all the way there. Verona to Trento is about 1 hour and there are good train connections. We visited an Aeronautical museum of Giovan Battista Caproni, one of the most important engineers of Aeroplane’s h...

It seems to me these days that people spend so much time moaning and whingeing about this and that, nothing works like it should and nothing is ever good enough, I thought it nice to share the thoughts of this refreshingly positive chap recently stranded on the NCL Star out in Australia.Francis Lahue and his wife were passengers of the Norwegian Star as it faced engine problems last Friday morning after leaving port. The luxury cruise ship was forced to bob without direction 30km off the coas...
