Thanks you for all your advice, do I need to book before sailing? Or is it possible to book once on board?
Hi, In the past we have always bought the package as we have boarded the ship - they will have a desk set up specially. However, Royal Caribbean (for some reason I don't understand) have not altered the GBP prices on the website since the dramatic fall in the pound so the preorder prices are looking VERY GOOD at the moment. Eg the 5 bottle gold package is listed at £64 compared to an onboard price of $129.95 - both include the 15% grat. I'd buy now ...in fact I have!!!
Simply pre pay for 3,5,7,or10 bottles of wine at a reduced rate & choose as you wish at meal times from the limited choice on offer. RCI no longer quote the prices on their website but from memory they start at about $63 to $169 plus 15% Gratuity. These prices may now be different of course......Wilba.
We were on RCI LEGEND in OCT 08. they offered Bronze Silver Gold and Platinum wine packages in 5 10 15 20 bottles. if you are going to drink wine with your meals this is a very good promotion. having signed for your package there is a list for each range. we found the wine selection good but dominated by calaforian wines. the package discount was something like 12.5% we enjoyed our 13 days of good food and wine and finished it with a special bottle of vintage "stags leap" superb!!!!
If you go here on the RCI website: http://www.royalcaribbean.co.uk/giftcatalog/category/home.do;jsessionid=00002ZoZq6M0sa23MSgAxR55HZ2:13dlht99k?catCode=WINDIN you will see full details and prices of the various packages in sterling.
I couldn't find that price list & I thought they had removed it. On the short 4/5 day cruises I seem to remember a 3 bottle package starting at $63 also. Thanks.
It is an offer on the first day to purchase a package of wine of the selections for usually three grades, i.e silver, bronze gold, and you can see the list before your purchase. It comes in 7,10,11,12 bottles and you get is stamped on your ships pass and then you can have a bottle at your table each night, of the selection you choose. We usaully go for the same wine each evening and tell the head waiter and then it ready when you go in and you can ask him to get chilled if required. You can use it in the Winjammer, Chops, Portofina and main resturant, even lunch time if you wish. If you see the bottles are not being used we take a bottle back to our cabin and enjoy it on the balacony. It is a good purchase especially if you like the average wine and check the purchase for one bottle then multiple by the number of nights you choose and see what the saving it is. We have done this on every cruise with RCL and Cel it does save the hassle of choosing each night. If you dont like the first wine you choose just change to another brand. You will see the offer usually by the entrance to the windjammer when you board .
I want to book myself on the RCL Brilliance of the Seas... Can anyone tell me if the junior suite's on deck 10 aft, cabin 1100 and 1602. Do they have larger decks being they are aft? or are they the same size as any other junior suite?
