Four Good Reasons To Book Early

Today is the start of 2018 and Happy new Year to everyone.

Having worked in the travel industry for many years January is always the time when everyone starts to think of warmer days and the summer, and of course booking their next holiday or cruise. Times have changed a lot though and lots of people now leave booking until the last minute, hoping for a bargain! However not everyone should leave it late and here are some very good reasons not to hang out for that price drop.

Firstly if you have decided on the cruise you want, and are set to specific dates,  chosen the cabin type and, in many cases the actual cabin or suite number, then you are going to be bitterly disappointed if suddenly the ship fills up, goes up in price or your cabin disappears. A good reason to book as soon as the programme goes on sale. P&O , Princess and other cruise lines already have 2019 on sale now.

Travelling with children? Need to travel in the school holidays, especially the summer period? You need to book now, already for summer 2018 three and four berth cabins are at a premium, they are not going to reduce in price, in fact many are sold out already, especially for Southampton sailings. The best advice I can give is to book in January this year for 2019.

Solo travellers also need to book early. Many cruise lines now have single cabins which are definitely better priced than having to take a double cabin and paying up to 100% supplement. These cabins don`t hang around though, they are quickly snapped up a good case of ” the early bird ” !

Last, but definitely not least, is anyone who needs a disabled adapted cabin. Again every ship has them but not in huge numbers. I have several regular clients who need adapted cabins and trying to find them at the last minute is practically impossible. Fortunately they have taken my advice and booked well ahead so that they get not only a choice of cabin type but also the cruise and itinerary they really want to do.

If you really are flexible then fine, try for a bargain but if not think about booking sooner rather than later.
