Four Fred`s For Funchal

Fred Olsen cruises are not for everyone, but they have a massive loyal passenger base who absolutely love them. If you are looking for a floating resort at sea, lots of children’s facilities and loads of restaurants to choose from then they are definitely not for you. If you like smaller, traditional ships with a really friendly atmosphere  then give them a try.

They are well known for their interesting, and different, itineraries and have won the award for Best Itineraries from the independent website Cruise Critic,  three years in a row.

Their preview 2019/2020 has just been released and there are some very different voyages lead by the Four Fred`s in Funchal voyages where Black Watch, Braemar, Balmoral and Boudicca will all be in port together.

Black Watch will sail from Liverpool on 26th March 2020 for a 14 night cruise taking in several ports in the Azores before arriving in Madeira on 4th April.

Balmoral leaves Newcastle on 29th March heading to Oporto and then on to Funchal to meet Black Watch on the same day. She will then continue her voyage around the Canary Islands for 16 nights.

Dover will see Boudicca set sail on 29th March visiting La Coruna and Lisbon before reaching Funchal and her sisters on 4th April.

Last, but not least, Braemar starts her 12 night voyage from Southampton on 28th March 2020 also arriving in Madeira on 4th April.

These voyages will have loads of special events taking place when all the ships meet in Madeira. A welcome ceremony, performances by local artists, live music and special menus. Guests will be able to have a look at all four ships and take part in competitions with other passengers and the crew members.

Madeira is a beautiful, lush, green island with lovely sub tropical gardens and a warm year round climate. Funchal centre is within walking distance of the port and was a favourite city of Sir Winston Churchill.
