Seabourn’s newest ship, Seabourn Encore, was christened last Saturday and is due to be the luxury line’s largest ever ship.
The line have just revealed the exclusive first glimpse of her interior (as seen below).
Encore is a larger version of three existing ships, Seabourn Odyssey and the almost identical Seabourn Soujourn and Seabourn Quest. Her design is based on the earlier ‘Odyssey class’ vessels and has one more deck with expanded public areas.
She is about 26% larger than its siblings and holds about 33% more passengers at the weight of 40,350 tonnes.
Seabourn Encore will offer elegant, contemporary spaces designed by noted hospitality designer, Adam Tihany. The spaces will include an airy main dining room and a version of the club-like social hub called Seabourn Square found on other Seabourn ships.
However, new-for-Encore venues will include a sushi eatery and a private, deck-top sanctuary called The Retreat, featuring a whirlpool and 15 private cabanas. The Retreat will only be open to passengers who pay an extra charge of $249 to $349 to book one of the cabanas.
Encore will also feature the second restaurant at sea for celebrated chef, Thomas Keller: the first Keller eatery at sea was opened in May 2016 on Seabourn Quest.

She departed late Saturday on a ten night inaugural voyage to Indonesia and will spend the coming months visiting ports in Asia, Australia and New Zealand before heading to the Mediterranean for the summer.
