For all those families out there…

This week I have seen an increase in calls from families looking to book their cruise for the summer holidays, what better way to holiday as a family than a cruise! I have spoken to different families with a variety of requests for family cabins, balcony cabins, cabins close to each other….and all looking for that last minute great deal! I have to be honest and say the majority of them have not got what they wanted and the reason……they have left it too late.

Now don’t get me wrong of course there are late deal type cruise offers available for the summer holidays but they are based  on 2 people in a cabin, not 3 or 4. They are also based on your cabin number being given to you by the cruise line meaning families can’t book 2 cabins and be guaranteed that there cabins will be next to each other or even close. On the flip side of this the 3 and 4 berth cabins that are available, and believe me there aren’t many, are must higher in cost than the special offer cabins making the cruise unaffordable for the majority of families calling.

To give you an example of this just a few hours ago I spoke to a customer wanting a balcony cabin for her and her husband and their two children, on board a ship well loved by families Independence of the Seas for the end of July. First of all she was surprised when I said there was only one grade of balcony cabin available to accommodate the four of them, she thought she would have pick of her choice of cabins. Secondly the figure she had in her mind was way way off the cost in reality, my customer was thinking she was going to get a great deal instead it was anything but to her and was completely out of her price range, not just by a little but by over £3000!

The trick for families getting a good deal for the summer holidays is to book early! You book way in advance , 1 year to 18 months and you get the best deal. You get the early booking offers, the lower children’s prices, you choice of ship, cabins, dining choices,  itineraries and you don’t have to compromise on what you want. Why should you.. in a lot of cases it’s the main and only holiday the family will have together so why not get what you want instead of what’s left.

If you have been disappointed and not been able to book your family cruise for this summer, why not think about next year. get in touch there are some great early booking deals and plenty of availability.

As always thank you for reading. Abbi x
