Southampton waves bye to Independence

So last week out of the blue Royal Caribbean announced they are pulling the Independence of the Seas out of Southampton from April 2020. These sailings have been on sale since the end of last year so you can imagine how many people we had to contact to advise and find an alternative. My very close work colleague had one of the biggest challenges, she had a big wedding party, so that day she had to find an alternative cruise and also a new wedding date. Hats off to her she got it all sorted in one day!

The reason Royal Caribbean took this decision is due to high demand for passengers visiting their brand new private island CocoCay in Bahamas. Now I have to say the island really does look amazing!!

Think we were all shocked when this news was announced. The Independence is a firm favourite for passengers wanting a good family ship sailing out of Southampton. There must have been 100’s of unhappy people last week. I personally think it is a shame that Royal have decided to take this option, surely they could have moved one of there other ships. They now only have the Anthem of the Seas sailing out of Southampton.

On the plus side there is still availability for the Anthem of the Seas and Royal have also decided to bring back the drinks promotion! So if you are still looking for your 2020 cruise then give me a call – 0800 408 6092
