So it’s not coming home, yet.

So 4 days on from that awful Semi-Final defeat, we have just lost to Belgium in the ‘who cares’ 3rd and 4th place play off and I have still not turned on Sky Sports News.

My flags are still up in the garden and in the car, I am still proud, win lose or draw but I am still gutted, so much so that I do not want to listen to the experts and their opinions on the sports news.

It’s my fault, I was thinking too far ahead, where am I going to watch the final on Sunday? Do I watch with my mates or sit with my dad at his house? England is going to shut down from mid-day onwards, I had been playing England songs on YouTube since we beat Colombia on penalties, I really thought It was coming home.

I did not even watch the play-off game until Nadal Djokovic game had finished, a wise choice by all accounts.

When we got knocked out in the Euros by Iceland it was easy to get over, we were rubbish and the future looked bleak, this time I am finding it hard but the saving grace is the future looks rosy, and we still have Gomez, Llanana and Oxlade-Chamberlain to come back in.

Croatia though, really? It was not Brazil, Spain, Germany, Argentina, it was Croatia….. We missed a massive opportunity.

So now what for me? No football for a month, no Wimbledon from tomorrow…

how about making the most of this amazing summer, BBQ with my 4 kids tomorrow at Rutland Water, last week of school then kids on hols, 7 days in Devon and a 3-night mini cruise on the Independence of the Seas, I think I will soon get over the World Cup.

It is coming home, it’s just we don’t know when.
