Girl trip on the Balmoral

Well here are the motley crew, I hope none of them mind being on my blog !!  This is the five siblings, and in age order as well, we occasionally have us all in the same place, maybe once or twice a year, with work commitments and extended families its not always easy.

We have family way up in Scotland, Manchester, the Midlands and down as far as Winchester and Surrey, so it can get a little busy!

Tomorrow I am off with my eldest sister on a cheeky 5 night France trip, just the two stops, Rouen and Honfleur, but she is in port overnight for both, so it makes a change of not rushing off trying to get as much in the 6/7 hours you normally get in the port, I wish more ships would do this.

I have been on most of the Fred Olsen ships (apart from Balck Watch) but it has been a while for Balmoral, and last time was our Christmas function, so, not quite the same experience. People laugh when I tell them about Freds, I am not shy about my age (58) and I feel very at home on board, the staff are always amazing and will bend over backward for you, because they are not the enormous “family” ships,  everyone gets to know one another, a bit old fashioned maybe, but its nice.

My sister has not been on this line before so it will be interesting to get her opinion, sometimes we get too used to things when we are in the industry and a fresh pair of eyes may be needed.

First time out of Dover too!! so a road trip it is for just the two of us, pity we could not all go.

See you in  two weeks with some pics from the Balmoral
