Family cruising, why late deals will not always work !!

Booking families on a cruise is great fun, until you cannot find a cabin that fits !! and while that may sound impossible , believe me it is not. Cruise ships are designed to carry a set number of passengers, and only so many cabins will be converted to more than a two berth, how often we get the calls for a family of four who can see there is availability and wonder why they cannot get a price. Added to this are the restrictions on the age groups of children allowed on board, I have touched on this before but as we get closer to summer holidays I thought this would help some people understand. I am using the P&O Ventura as an example , purely because I have the facts. Only 660 children will be allowed on any one sailing :-

Infants ages 6 -23 Months ……….19

Infants ages 24-35 Months ……….24

Children ages 3 -7 years…………….88

children aged 8………………………..30

children ages 9 -12…………………..200

children ages 13-16………………….300

So as you can see if you have an 8 year old and 2 year old your chances are more limited than if you have two teenagers, so please book early for your holidays, especially in the school holidays !!!
