Oceana and Arcadia to be refreshed in time for Christmas!

At the moment the Arcadia is high and dry in a dry dock in Hamburg under-going a multimillion pound refurbishment and she isn’t alone as the P&O Oceana will under-go hers later in the year.

This is to ensure that they will both be ready for one of the busiest periods of the year – Christmas and New Year where the ships are deck out with the magnificent Christmas decorations and more food than you can eat, ready for all the party goers and the atmosphere is hard to beat!

P&O Cruises senior vice president, Paul Ludlow, commented “We continually invest in our ships in order to create a contemporary and comfortable environment while still keeping the unique character and key features that our guests know and love.

“Those travelling on Arcadia and Oceana can look forward to new design concepts and improvements to comfort while still enjoying the incomparable service that characterises a P&O Cruises holiday.”

Arcadia is due to be back in the Water and raring to go in Southampton on the 15th November where she will be showcased on a 3-night mini cruise to Belgium. Are you going on for this one? Would love to hear your thoughts when you are back.

P&O has set high expectations and promised the WOW factor for the ships atrium area and reception, including a new nautical themed wall, along with the suites receiving a makeover.

Oceana will follow a little later going in to dry dock at the end of November, the refit will see the suites and cabins made over and the addition of new flooring in the buffet, gym, spa and atrium – not very exciting I know but all helps to keep the ships looking ship shape.

The pool deck will see some new additions with the hot tubs being refurbished and a canopy that will add shade over the bar area for those hot itineraries.

She will be ready for her Christmas cruise leaving Southampton on the 17th December – lets hope she isn’t delayed!

Will you be spending Christmas on Oceana?
