Back from Oasis of The Seas

I was fortunate enough to sail on Oasis of The Seas recently and wow, what an impressive ship she is. I have never been on Oasis class before with Royal Caribbean. The Independence of The Seas was the biggest I have been with them, but it is simply huge and there is so much going on. the best thing for me that they stand up above all is the entertainment on board which I have never experienced on any other ship. Proper Broadway shows, full length , not just the usual 45 minutes short versions. The Aqua show in the outside theatre was something I have never seen on or off a ship. The Ice skating show (Frozen) was amazing and in between there were a magician, comedian and other shows,fantastic and well done Royal Caribbean. There were a balloon party on board the first night when they release at midnight thousands of balloons on the Royal Promenade. There was a parade as well a couple of days later. There is a climbing wall and a zip wire, plus many other surprises on board. The kids club was impressive as well how big it is and comprises with lots of rooms for different activities for kids of all ages, comparing to other ships where you get just a one small room. There was a massive sport court and not mentioning the 4 outdoor pools with water fountains for the kids, absolutely amazing. However, the two things that wasn’t so good, firstly the food, in the main restaurant , America Icon the food is at best average, I have had much better elsewhere. You can’t get into the Buffet in the morning for breakfast as there are no tables available , but we did like the Park Cafe which always had tables and not a bad breakfast. The speciality restaurants were good though, but prices of drinks… the highest in the cruise industry, you better purchase a drinks package if you drink….
