    On arrival in Beijing, you will be met by your guide and transferred to your hotel for an overnight stay. The remainder of your day is at leisure.

    Beijing

    Begin this morning by heading to Beijing’s symbolic heart for a stroll through Tiananmen Square and into the magnificent Forbidden City. Entering through the Gate of Supreme Harmony you will find a complex full of imperial riches. Next, take a rickshaw ride to the ancient city alleys of the Hutongs and experience the lifestyle of the local people. Finally, head to the Summer Palace, the largest and most well-preserved royal park in China with over 3,000 man made ancient structures. After exploring this ancient palace, transfer back to your hotel. This evening, dine on a delicious Peking duck dinner.

    Beijing

    Today, you will head out to visit the Great Wall of China, the country’s most iconic sight. The section you will visit is Juyongguan. Draped over a great mountain pass, Juyongguan is the closest section of the Great Wall to Beijing, just 31 miles. Spend time taking in the views on this piece of stunning ancient architecture. After, head to explore one of China’s most symbolic and important materials, Jade. Whilst at the Jade Factory, you can watch the artisans at work. Finally, Explore the underground Ming Tombs and the Sacred Way. Of the 16 Ming Dynasty emperors, 13 are buried in this area.

    Beijing - Xian

    Today, take the speedy bullet train to Xian, a city well known for the Ancient Terracotta Warriors. On arrival, transfer to your hotel where the rest of the day will be at your leisure. In the evening, enjoy a local Shui Jiao dumpling dinner and watch a traditional Tang Dynasty dancing show.

    Today, your guide will take you to see one of the most important archaeological discoveries of the 20th century, the Terracotta Warriors. The figures represent the army of Qin Shi Huang and they were entombed with the emperor to protect him in the afterlife. Next, visit this factory which produces Qin terracotta warriors and horses, and lacquer products, where you can buy your own portable soldier. After, you will be transferred to your hotel.

    Today, transfer to the airport for your onward flight to Shanghai. On arrival, embark on a city tour of Shanghai. Begin by visiting the Yu Gardens. Next, take a stroll along the famous Bund and enjoy a cruise along the Huangpu River with stunning views of the Pudong District.
