    A collective of over 150 islands, the Okinawa Prefecture, alongside the Ryukyu islands is Japan's collective of overseas territory. Okinawa Island otherwise known as Okinawa Honto is the largest and most popular of the tropical islands, with a beautifull tropical climate, home to the former Ryukyu Kingdom and the Shuri Castle. Shuri castle was initially built in the 1300's but has been completely destroyed on a number of occasions in battle, the castle standing today rebuilt and reconstructed as an ode to this islands deep history, now protected as a UNESCO world heritage site.
