There are also more than a thousand islands, millions of trees, dozens of glaciers and a handful of Alaska’s quieter or hard to reach communities - Ketchikan, Wrangell, Prince of Wales, Sitka, Juneau, Haines, Skagway, Glacier Bay among others

    Sitka, Alaska

Originally settled by the Tlingit people over 10,000 years ago; in 1804 the Russians invaded, claiming it for Russia. In 1867 the Americans bought the land; with Sitka becoming Alaska's capital city. With a varied and colourful history, the town is one of Alaska's most interesting ports along with wide spectacular scenery.

    Hubbard Glacier (Scenic Cruising)

Hubbard Glacier is North America's biggest tidewater glacier, situated 200 miles to the north-west of the capital city of Juneau. For the most part, the glacier is peaceful – but it does calve often, meaning that large chunks of ice detach themselves from the glacier and fall into the water. If you are lucky you may witness this happening and have an amazing memory to take home with you.

  • 13 May 21

    Juneau, Alaska

Juneau is a contradictory wonder that can only be accessed by boat or plane. Alaska’s second-largest city borders both a waterway that never freezes and an icefield that never melts.

  • 14 May 21

    Ketchikan, Alaska

First founded in 1885 as a site for canning foods, Ketchikan has since become a very popular tourism port with 650,000 visitors per day during summer months. With a backdrop of forest hills and a port bustling with local life, it’s no wonder Ketchikan is so popular.

  • 15 May 21
