Typical Passengers

Due to the bold entertainment options and action-packed recreational facilities, Norwegian Epic is a ship that skews younger than many rivals. It appeals equally to youthful adults, groups of friends, solo travellers and families with children.

Ship Amenities

One of the ship’s primary highlights is its Aqua Park, which boasts three water slides to choose from. Whether you prefer spinning around in an inner tube or sliding down a vertical drop, you’ll find plenty of ways to let loose here. There’s also a large movie screen near the pool area, with amphitheatre-styled seating and a sun deck nearby to top up your tan. The Spice H20 space is open for sunbathing in the daytime and dancing to DJ-led club tunes in the evening. The ship’s interiors provide a number of dramatic atrium spaces, including the lobby with its three-deck-high glass chandelier. For a more exclusive cruising experience, passengers can opt into the POSH Beach Club with its Miami vibes and private cabanas. There’s also a frozen Ice Bar to cool down with a vodka cocktail in an ice chamber, as well as a casino, Internet lounge, and plenty of play areas for the kids. Norwegian’s partnered with Nickelodeon to provide family-friendly entertainment, including a character breakfast and shows like Slime Time live.

Cabin Amenities

Accommodation is extensive and varied onboard Norwegian Epic, with higher end options including the first Loft Suites at sea with a duplex layout. Courtyard Suites are set up in a villa-styled arrangement, with private balconies and a four-deck gated community. Typical features in the cabins include private bathrooms with vanity desks, LED lighting, a minibar, and a flat-screen infotainment system.

Dining Options

With 21 restaurants to choose from, there’s certainly no shortage of choice when it comes to Norwegian Epic’s dining outlets. A good 11 of these have been included in the standard fare, with an additional 10 specialty options that require a cover charge. Highlights include Cagney’s Steakhouse and Churrascaria for grilled meats, La Cucina for regional Italian cuisine from Tuscany, and Le Bistro for French cuisine. There’s also a range of Asian restaurants on offer including Shanghai’s for Chinese, Wasabi for sushi, and Teppanyaki Grill for Japanese. The Manhattan Room is another standout highlight, with its elegant Art Deco style and live supper club shows. And for casual dining outlets, visit O’Sheehan’s sports bar, the Café Jardin self-serve buffet or Great Outdoors al-fresco eatery.

Entertainment is as spectacular as its name suggests at the Epic Theatre, showcasing a full programme of major productions and cabaret acts. There’s also the plush surroundings of the Bliss Ultra Lounge, which features late-night comedy acts and includes a bowling alley for added fun. Don’t miss the celebrity look-alike shows, giving you the chance to see realistic Neil Diamond, Madonna, and Elvis impersonators straight out of Vegas. The Spiegel Tent is another top venue, mixing acrobatics and circus performances with a dinner service.

Sports and Wellness

While on some ships the spa is a mere afterthought, it’s front and centre on the Norwegian Epic. The Smile Spa and Pulse Fitness Centre includes a massive, sprawling complex covering 2,880 square metres of treatment rooms, aerobics classes, saunas and steam rooms. Sports facilities include everything from a full-sized basketball court to dodge ball, football, volleyball, and a batting cage. There’s also bowling lanes, a bungee trampoline, and a climbing cage along with an action-packed abseiling wall. This means there’s truly never a dull moment!

The ship was absolutely amazing. It was spotlessly clean. The staff were very friendly and so polite. Our cabin steward was brilliant as you rarely seen him but he kept the suite perfect.
