Typical Passengers
As you might guess, Disney Wonder’s demographic includes a high percentage of families. It’s ideal for children of all ages, provided they are 12 weeks or above. The ship is conveniently divided into three zones, including one for families with older children, one for families with toddlers, and a child-free zone as well. The family pool area is popular with all ages and includes a Goofy Pool Jumbo Screen showcasing Disney classics. Babysitting services are available, along with character breakfasts, prams for hire, and kids’ clubs.
Ship Amenities
There are three swimming pools outdoors, including the adults-only space, main family pool, and kids-only pool. Little ones can also play the day away at Dory’s Reef splash pool or take a spin down the Twist and Spout waterslide. Nods to Disney characters are included throughout the ship, from Mickey’s signature profile at the bottom of the swimming pool to stainless steel detailing on the handrails. Grownups can have a little child-free fun in their own ‘After Hours’ entertainment area, which includes the Cadillac piano lounge, Crown and Fin bar and Azure nightclub. Another impressive feature is Castaway Cay – although it’s not part of the ship, this is Disney’s very own private island where the Wonder stops off for a day of nonstop fun in the sun!
Cabin Amenities
Guests can pick and choose from a variety of different cabin sizes, positions and layouts. The ship makes smart use of the space available, with built-in storage features, closets and en-suite bathrooms. Many of the cabins also include pull-down berth which is stored in the ceiling when they’re not in use, which is a clever way to provide extra beds for families. For added space, you can choose a suite, which comes with added perks like big-screen TVs, additional beds, and DVD players.
Dining Options
From light bites to sit-down dinners, snacks to room service, you’ll never go hungry on the Disney Wonder cruise! The main dining rooms are called Tiana’s and Lumiere’s, each with a distinct theme. The third main dining room is called Animator’s Palate, with electronic artwork. Don’t worry – you’ll have the chance to eat in all three, as guests rotate between themed rooms with the same assigned waiter lending a bit of consistency. When you want to splash out a little, you can visit Palo for Italian fare and panoramic sea views. Palo also hosts a charming Afternoon High Tea during the days at sea. The ship’s self-service buffet is called Cabanas, and Goofy’s Galley is another top choice for informal dining.
Entertainment
Enjoy Magic Kingdom-worthy entertainment each evening in the ship’s show lounge, which seats nearly 1000 guests in comfort. Sing along with all your favourite Disney tunes, laugh along with comedy shows or play along with the Trivia Game Show! Entertainment programs vary each evening and are suitable for all ages, yet there are adults-only options as well in the After Hours district.
Sports and Wellness
There are plentiful ways to keep active on the Disney Wonder – starting with the trio of swimming pools. Visit the sports deck to play a round of basketball with friends, or hit the gym to take advantage of the muscle-pumping machines and ocean views. Make it a spa day in the Senses Spa and Salon, with over 10,000 square feet including a dozen spa and beauty treatment rooms to pamper you from top to toe.
