ABOUT DISNEY FANTASY

Typical Passengers

As you might expect, this ship caters heavily to the family crowd. It’s simply ideal for families with children of any age, although adult couples and solo travellers are certainly welcome! Kid-friendly features include the array of play areas, from the Animator’s Studio to Nemo’s, as well as a Small World Nursery and Oceaneer Club. Teens have their own area to chill out in, with green-screen technology and outdoor recreation.

Ship Amenities

Disney Fantasy is a spacious addition to the cruise line’s fleet, being 40 percent larger than the ships that came before it. With two extra decks, it offers more fun-filled features than ever as well as plenty of exciting décor including gold scrollwork and signature Disney logos at every turn. A highlight for all ages is the AquaDuck, an aquatic rollercoaster that spans four decks with its twists and turns, as well as plenty of splash pools, swimming areas and sunbathing zones. Indoors, public rooms feature high ceilings and Art Nouveau detailing with artworks sourced from Disney films. Although there’s an entire deck of play areas for kids and teens, adults have their own area as well called The District. This play zone for grownups includes a Skyline Lounge, O’Gills Pub, and Tube lounge with a dance floor. Retail shops, a pink champagne bar, sports bar, and video arcade are all on hand for fun times at sea, and there’s even a private island called Castaway Cay where the ship docks for escapist entertainment!

Cabin Amenities

Choose from nine different types of cabins and suites, including options specifically for families as well as accommodation with or without private balconies. Interior cabins give you virtual views of the outdoors thanks to high-definition cameras with live video feeds. Another special feature that’s unique to Disney Fantasy is that all bathrooms offer round tubs with a pull-down seat and shower hose, which is ideal for bathing small children or babies. If you opt for one of the higher-end suites, you’ll enjoy premium bed linens, H20 Plus bath and spa products, and even a hot tub.

Dining Options

This massive ship offers three main dining rooms to provide plenty of room for all passengers. Each features a different décor, and you’ll rotate through these options with the same server to provide continuity during your cruise! Animator’s Palate transforms into a virtual coral reef, the Royal Court offers an enchanting castle experience, and the Enchanted Garden features décor inspired by the gardens of Versailles. For a sophisticated dining experience, visit Remy. Its menus are crafted by Michelin-starred chef Arnaud Lallement, with a design drawn from Disney’s Ratatouille film. And for adults-only dining on special occasions, visit Palo for gourmet Italian cuisine.

Entertainment

Entertainment is as lavish as what you’d expect from Disney. The Walt Disney Theatre is the ship’s main show lounge, with a ceiling literally studded with stars. You’ll enjoy Disney-themed revues and musical numbers here. There’s also a cinema called the Buena Vista Theatre, as well as live entertainment on deck on many evenings. From fireworks to character performances and pirate parties, there’s always something happening here!

Sports and Wellness

Leave your onshore cares far behind when you visit the ship’s Senses Spa and Salon. It boasts 17 different treatment rooms along with outdoor verandas to inspire relaxation. Hydrotherapy, aromatherapy, and steam rooms are all on the docket here to help you unwind. There are also specialty spa treatments for teens, who have their own chill-out zone to beat stress.

Catering and dining service was of a high standard. Wines were of good quality and fairly priced. The shows were on the whole excellent and the two children thoroughly enjoyed their clubs.
