This upmarket boutique cruising experience is a great fit for mature adults who want all the adventure of an expedition cruise combined with the luxurious comforts that a major cruise line like Celebrity can offer. The cruise appeals to those interested in eco-friendly travel, with a demographic primarily from North America.

Ship Amenities

This smaller sized ship is packed with as many luxury-minded amenities as will fit, though the focus is on providing an immersive Galapagos experience. There’s a sizeable amount of open deck space to enjoy, including teak sun loungers, plush patio furniture and handsome teakwood decking. While the ship is too small to offer a full-sized swimming pool, guests can relax in the whirlpool tub day or night. There’s an understated elegance to the décor both inside and out of Celebrity Xpedition, ranging from the main lounge to the dining room. The lounge is the primary area for entertainment, lectures and business alike, converting easily into an evening social hub with a bar and dance floor. Shore excursions are a prime focus of any cruise, led in Zodiac boats by local Ecuadorian guides. The fare is all-inclusive with meals, beverages, gratuities and excursions all included in your price. Additional facilities include a purser’s office, small library corner, and shop selling basic sundries and souvenirs.

Cabin Amenities

Passengers onboard Celebrity Xpedition can choose from two different types of cabins, comfort cabins or suites. All include basic features like a TV, sofa, vanity desk with hairdryer, and drinks table. You’ll also find a minibar and refrigerator as well as a personal safe to store your belongings Outfitted with marble accents, bathrooms are sizeable with a soap and shampoo dispenser included in the shower. Suites are slightly more spacious, featuring private balconies with teak coverings.

Dining Options

Visit the ship’s Darwin Dining Room for breakfast, lunch and dinner service. Seating is open, allowing you to dine wherever you wish. You’ll be able to pick and choose your breakfast and lunch items from a self-serve buffet, and menus are influenced by local suppliers so you’ll always have something that’s seasonal and fresh. Expect plenty of locally caught seafood and exotic fruit!

Evening entertainment onboard Celebrity Xpedition revolves around good conversation, and the public lounge is set up to encourage a convivial atmosphere amongst fellow passengers. If you prefer a quiet night in, you can relax with a film on your in-cabin television. There are also plenty of books and board games in the library area of the lounge. During the daytime, entertainment includes your Zodiac excursions to the island destinations throughout the Galapagos. This is complemented with naturalist lectures about the wildlife, as well as tour briefings to get you ready for the next day. Discovery Lounge picks up in the evening with folkloric dancing, music and singing on its small stage, and there’s also a piano and dance floor next to the bar.

Sports and Wellness

Although Celebrity Xpedition might be small, it has plenty of facilities to help you relax during your downtime at sea. This includes a sunbathing area on the top deck, with a whirlpool hot tub and cushioned sunbeds. There’s also a small gym, with basic weights and cardio equipment as well as a compact unisex sauna. A massage table is positioned here, and there’s a small beauty parlour nearby where you can enjoy a pampering treatment or two.

The best cruise yet

Davies, Pontypool, 9th January 2019

We have cruised with several different cruise companies over the years but celebrity outshone them all. The overall service was outstanding from the minute we entered the ship we were looked after.

Fantastic relaxed cruise

Parker, Aldridge, 20th July 2018

The food on the ship was good and in the afternoon when you got back from your trip or snorkelling there were little sandwiches and cakes and a drink waiting for you.
