Ship Amenities

You’ll find plenty of spaces to spread out, relax and enjoy your days at sea. The open deck offers two swimming pools to choose from, one catering specifically to families and the other covered by a retractable glass roof for all-weather splashing. If you’re looking for a bit of peace and quiet away from the kids, head to the Sanctuary space with its adults-only pool, bar and hot tub. The interior of the ship is well worth a wander with its fine art décor theme featuring recreations of Renaissance masterworks. The ‘Yellow Brick Road’ walkway run throughout, connecting guests with the bevy of bars, high-energy nightclubs and laid-back lounges here. Visit the Winner’s Club Casino if you’re feeling lucky, or pick up a few souvenirs in the ship’s classy boutiques. A video games room, wedding chapel and photo gallery round out the facilities here.

Cabin Amenities

There’s a staggering variety of cabin categories to choose from, all arranged by location, size and price grade. At the more luxurious end are the private suites, which include sweeping ocean views and teakwood balconies. All accommodation comes equipped with individual climate control, a telephone, television and private bathrooms with complimentary toiletries. Most of the basic cabins offer twin-size beds that can convert into a single queen size, while others include space for a third or fourth passenger as well.

Dining Options

The ship’s main dining room is called Normandie Restaurant. It’s massive in size, seating up to 1,300 guests across its two opulently decorated levels. You’ll have your choice of flexible dining hours or a fixed seating time for dinner. The menu is classic and comforting, with a choice of grilled chicken, fish and beef on most evenings. You’ll enjoy a bit of entertainment with your meal courtesy of the talented singing waiters! Additional dining options include specialty outlets like Blue Iguana for Mexican and Bonsai for sushi. Guy’s Burger Joint is a popular choice operated by Food Network personality Guy Fieri, and there’s also an upscale steakhouse as well as a buffet-style Lido Restaurant.

After dinner, retire to the Taj Mahal Showlounge to enjoy feather-bedecked costumes and cabaret acts worthy of a Vega stage. The lounge is spread out over three levels, with Butterflies lounge and bar on the ground level. In addition to the glamorous events at Taj Mahal, you can while away your evenings in the Starry Night Jazz Club, Florentine Lounge or Ivory Piano Bar. And if you’re in the mood to dance until dawn, visit the Beauties Dance Club with its DJ-led modern beats.

Sports and Wellness

For health and wellness, book in some time at Spa Carnival with its treatment rooms, fitness classes, and ocean views. There’s a spacious gym and aerobics room to help you keep fit at sea, or you can breathe in the fresh air with a spin around the outdoor jogging track instead. Sport enthusiasts will also enjoy spending some time at the mini-golf course and basketball court.

There was rarely a minute when there wasn’t something going on, the leisure facilities seemed limitless. This was a really good step out into a wonderful experience.

Carnival Cruise To Western Caribbean.

Taylor, Roydon, 13th Mar 2015

The cabin was spacious, it was in good condition and everything worked. We found the staff were an absolute delight and nothing was too much trouble.
