Ship Amenities

It’s all about glitz and glamour aboard the Carnival Freedom! A high-energy entertainment program operates day and night, with cruise directors on hand to get guests involved with participatory games and events by the pool throughout the day. The outdoor deck is the main hub for outdoor recreation, featuring swimming pools, hot tubs and splash zones for kids. Head to the upper deck to visit the Seaside Theatre, showing recent blockbusters and family favourites alike. If you need to get away from the crowds, visit the aptly-named Serenity space at the ship’s front. It’s adults-only, with a more sophisticated atmosphere than the main pool area. Indoors, Freedom is brightly coloured with plenty of vibrant lights and music. Public areas are centred around the interior atrium and main boulevard. Test your luck in the Babylon Casino, or relax with a good book in the Monticello Library. There’s also a conference centre, piano bar, wine bar and various shops to explore here.

Cabin Amenities

Solo travellers, families, couples and groups of friends will all find a cabin to suit their party’s size and needs. There are plentiful categories of accommodation, with or without outside views and private balconies. Standard amenities include storage space, private safes, bathrooms with complimentary toiletries and room service. Do you plan to take advantage of the spa? Why not book a spa suite with direct access to the gym?

Dining Options

Carnival Freedom offers a wide range of dining options, including the buffet service at Freedom Restaurant. Pick and choose from international favourites by day before it transforms into Seaview Bistro at night, dishing up pasta and steaks. Visit Guy’s Burger Joint, one of the latest ventures from TV celebrity Guy Fieri, sample the catch of the day at the Seafood Shack, or relax at Mexican cantina Blue Iguana with a taco and margarita combo. For something special, make reservations at the Sun King Supper Club. This fine dining experience serves excellent-quality surf and turf, with fine china and elegant surroundings. And of course, you can always visit the two main dining rooms, called Chic and Posh. These offer traditional dishes on the menu, all with an ocean view.

Whether you’re in the mood for a quiet after-dinner drink or sit-down musical production, you’ll find a wealth of options here. The ship’s medieval-themed main show lounge is called Victoriana, with seating for up to 1,400 guests and Las Vegas-worthy production values – think rotating stages, feather-bedecked costumes and plenty of impressive singing and dancing. There’s a smaller lounge on hand that also features live music and cabaret acts, as well as stand-up comedy. Sing along with your favourite tunes in Scott’s Piano Bar, or show off your best moves on the disco dance floor.

Sports and Wellness

From morning yoga to afternoon basketball, there’s no shortage of ways to keep fit on the Carnival Freedom! The SpaCarnival complex includes a bevy of health and wellness facilities, including a spacious gym with state-of-the-art equipment and instructor-led exercise classes to trim, tone and get the blood pumping. There’s also a sun room, massage treatments, saunas, steam rooms and a beauty parlour to help you look and feel your best.

We enjoyed the films under the stars most evenings with our popcorn so romantic. The evenings were full of so many different types of entertainment it was hard to decide which ones to go to.

An excellent cruise and if the price is right we would not hesitate to use Carnival again.
