ABOUT BRITANNIA

Ship Amenities

Capable of carrying 3, 647 passengers, Britannia is P&O’s largest ship and the biggest built specifically to suit the UK market. With this market in mind, it was designed by British company Richmond International, who have also overseen hotels like Four Seasons Hampshire and Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park. You’ll see this same hotel-quality detail in Britannia, with its luxe touches of marble, wood and glass. At the ship’s heart is the atrium, spanning three decks with a starburst sculpture centrepiece. The atrium’s lined with cafes, shops, and P&O features like the Crow’s Nest Bar, but you’ll also find new features on the ship like a Cookery Club and TV Studio. Kids’ clubs, swimming pools, a casino, a library, and a card room are also on hand, along with a Live Lounge for dancing and music throughout the day.

Cabin Amenities

Passengers can select from six classes of suites and cabins, tastefully decorated in neutral tones of beige and cream with warm wooden accents. All include standard features like a mini fridge, personal safe, flat screen televisions and tea and coffee making facilities. Rooms are individually climate controlled to allow you to find the perfect temperature, and many rooms feature balconies with chairs and tables to enjoy the fresh air. Private bathrooms are included in all rooms, with glass shower screens and complimentary products from the White Company.

Dining Options

There’s a major emphasis on the culinary side of cruising onboard the Britannia, particularly seen in its Cookery Club which features classes from master chefs like Marco Pierre White, Eric Lanlard, and James Martin. The ship features three main dining rooms, two of which (Meridian and Peninsular) feature open seating. The menu focuses on modern British cuisine with international influences, with Gala Nights showcasing meals designed by Marco Pierre White.

Visit the Horizon buffet restaurant to enjoy live cooking stations and international theme nights, or fill up on burgers and kebabs at the poolside Lido Grill. A Pizzeria is also stationed outdoors for al fresco pizzas at any time of day, and room service is on hand 24-7. Speciality dining options include contemporary supper club The Limelight Club, along with market-fresh continental fare at the Market Café. Sindhu is helmed by Michelin-starred chef Atul Kochhar, showcasing a fusion menu of Indian flavours. There’s also the Glass House for wine and small plates, as well as the Epicurean for inventive fine dining and a lush Afternoon Tea.

Entertainment

Visit Headliners Theatre to take in the latest musical performances and theatre productions. With a LED screen and professional audio equipment, the theatre’s productions rival any on land. The Limelight Club and Live Lounge are top venues for those who enjoy live music and cabaret acts, while the Crystal Room is the place to be for Latin and ballroom dancing.

Sports and Wellness

In addition to the two main pools, there’s a third swimming pool at the adults-only Retreat alongside day beds, cabanas, and waiter service. For massages, body wraps, manicures, pedicures, and other soothing treatments, visit the Oasis Spa. Sport fanatics are well-catered for as well, with tennis, football, and cricket facilities on offer along with a gym and jogging track.
