Ship Amenities
The ship’s exterior is sleek and modern, with a blue hull and white upper structure capped by a square blue funnel. Outdoors you’ll find plenty of space for finding your own space in the sun. The Lido Deck features two hot tubs and a swimming pool, and this area is lined with wooden sun loungers for soaking in the abundant rays. Stretch your legs on the pool deck’s jogging track, or head indoors to admire the traditional elegance of the interior décor. Azamara Journey is modelled after the traditional ocean liners of the 1920s and 1930s, given a fresh and modern upgrade after a 2016 refurbishment. Expect plenty of wrought iron, grand staircases and wooden accents. Public areas to relax in include a large observation lounge called the Looking Glass, as well as a Martini Bar, Mosaic Café, Luxe Casino, and shopping boutique. Visit the Drawing Room for Regency-styled décor and a fine selection of books to curl up with.
Cabin Amenities
From interior staterooms to spacious Penthouse Deluxe suites, there’s a full range of price grades and layouts to choose from. All accommodation on Azamara Journey features private bathrooms, vanity desks with hair dryers, closet space, air conditioning, a flat-screen TV, and a telephone with voicemail. You’ll also enjoy 100 percent cotton towels, plush bedding and a personal safe with refrigerator and minibar. Many cabins and suites include a balcony, while some offer interconnecting doors or separate living and dining areas.
Dining Options
The main dining room onboard Azamara Journey is called Discoveries, featuring open seating so you can enjoy flexible dining with ocean views. Decorated with sophisticated interiors, the ship also features a bandstand for live music to accompany dinnertimes. The menus change by day so you’ll always have something new to try! Next door there’s a Martini Bar, the perfect spot for pre or post-dinner cocktails next to a roaring fireplace. Specialty restaurants are available for an added fee, including the Mediterranean cuisine of Aqualina and the prime cuts of steak at Prime C Steakhouse. The exception to this added fee is suite occupants, who may dine free of charge in any restaurant. For more casual dining options, venture to Windows Café with its indoor/outdoor seating, tasty meals and onsite Sushi area. Pick up a grilled fast-food snack at the Poolside Grill, or enjoy a specialty Italian coffee or cup of tea at Mosaic Café. Soft-serve ice cream rounds out the options here.
Entertainment
In addition to live music at dinner, you can enjoy the art of good conversation with fellow passengers in the ship’s abundant bars, lounges and social areas. There’s also a dedicated entertainment venue called Celebrity Cabaret, which showcases classical concerts, comedy acts, dramatic theatre performances and song-and-dance revues.
Sports and Wellness
In addition to the jogging track and swimming areas, there’s a full-service gym available onboard Azamara Journey. The Astral Spa includes a thalassotherapy pool, cardio and weight pumping equipment, and multiple treatment rooms where you can indulge in massages or beauty treatments. Finally, if you’ve always considered trying acupuncture you will have the chance in the ship’s Acupuncture at Sea specialty clinic!

The ship had a club atmosphere, and the service was impeccable. We enjoyed this cruise, mostly for the fact that it was different. Would we be tempted to book again? Yes.

The first thing to say is that we had a great cruise and would recommend Azamara Journey. The staff members were all friendly helpful and efficient and it seems a very happy ship.
