My P&O Arcadia Experience

Hello everyone.  I have just returned from a 3 night work trip on board P&O Arcadia escorting some of our Forum members on this cruise.

This was my first experience sailing on a P&O ship and I am now a convert!  Here is a resume of my trip.

There were four of us from cruise.co.uk escorting our Forum members.  There was myself and my cruise consultant colleague Josephine plus Amar and Rob from the Social Media Team.

We boarded the ship on Friday morning.  Check in was very quick and efficient and of course the first stop was the bar on the top deck for a cocktail!

After a quick bite to eat we went down to our cabin.  We had an outside cabin on G Deck which was deck 1.  I have never been this low on a ship before but the cabin was very clean and a decent size for Josephine and I.  The only thing we noticed was at night you could feel the vibration of the engines but to be honest this helped me sleep!

After unpacking and getting sorted it was time to shower and change and get ready to meet everyone in the Crow’s Nest for a pre dinner drink.  The dress code was smart casual this evening.

After the drinks myself, my colleagues and the Forum members went down to the Main Dining Room for dinner.  We were all put on Freedom Dining so ate in the Meridian Restaurant on Deck 3.  We thought there may be an issue getting tables together for around 20 of us but the staff were very accommodating and every night at 7.30 we were given two tables together.  The food was delicious and they cater very well for gluten free as one of our party can confirm.

The following day we were in Guernsey.  It was a beautiful day so the tenders were running all day taking people in to St Peter’s Port.

Josephine and I took the opportunity to explore the ship.  Here are some of the photos I took around the ship.  One thing I noticed was the stunning art work all around the ship.

Tonight was Formal Night so we all got our glad rags on!

Once we had got changed Josephine and I headed out to the top deck for the Sail Away Party from Guernsey.  For anyone who will soon be sailing with P&O for the first time this is a must.  The atmosphere is electric and it is very patriotic.

Josephine and I plus a couple of the Forum members headed to the theatre to watch the entertainment team The Headliners perform Killer Queen.  It was a fantastic show.

Sunday was a sea day but unfortunately the weather was poor so it was a day of relaxing but myself and Rob did venture in to the pool which was rather cold!

Sunday night we put our luggage out so when we woke up Monday morning it was a case of a quick pastry and coffee and we were off the ship.

I loved the Arcadia for a small adult only ship but this has now whetted my appetite for more P&O Cruises.  I am booked on the Iona for next year but which ship would you recommend I try?  I would love to hear your comments on what you think of Arcadia and which ship I should try next.

Until next time…Happy Cruising!
