Celebrity Does Have The EDGE!!! – Part 1

Well it has a whole been two weeks since me and a few work colleagues sampled 2 nights on the delight’s and beauty of Celebrity’s cruises newest edition the Celebrity Edge – and she did not disappoint! Luckily myself and partner in crime Harry arranged to go down the night before in Southampton, so we managed to embark the ship as early as 10:30 am. This was great not only to check-in and the avoid the queues but to see the ship, take pictures and videos without thousands of other people doing the same thing.Check-in was smooth and slick as we had already checked in online and printed our passes out. So once aboard we made our way to our room which was on deck 12 room 12233, concierge grade with the new concept of the Infinite balcony. The stateroom was very modern, spacious and contemporary throughout, then with the touch of a button the doors foldaway and your entire living space becomes your balcony. Then you can decide to let the sea air in by pressing a button so that the floor to ceiling window rolls down to half way and watch the ocean roll by.

In my opinion the infinity balcony is more of a extension like a sun-room/conservatory, so if you looking or expecting to get a tan on this kind of balcony you won’t. Also worth noting as we were one deck 12 there was a big overhang from the deck above which is the pool deck on deck 14.

After recording videos and taking plenty pictures of our stateroom it was time for a drink or two and taking in the delights of the pool deck and the Rooftop Garden. The main outside pool was of a very good size with plenty of sunbeds and seating areas in the sun and shade, again with a contemporary and modern feel. The Rooftop Garden is a beautiful chilled out area in the day where you can relax into cosy chair and listen to music from the treetop sculptures. Then in the evening you can take in a film or dance the night away to live music.

Next time I will be looking at restaurant and dining options along with the innovative Magic Carpet!
