Schools out for summer

Well, emotionally, this is the last time I will ever get to say this, as my baby girl has now, as of today, officially left school.

She has sat through 20 GCSE exams over the past 4 weeks, and worked her socks off, now comes the wait until 22 August for the results. Whatever she achieves I could not be more proud for how she got through them.

So what better way to celebrate than heading off to Royal Ascot tomorrow for Ladies day, something I have always enjoyed. Watching The Queen arrive in the Royal Procession is something I cannot wait to enjoy with my daughter. The day has a real sense of occasion and I am sure there will be champagne with all the family to celebrate.

Then comes Prom – yikes, next week she will be glammed up as if going on formal night on a cruise, I just love these treasured moments.

We also will have a well deserved week rest and relaxation on a little villa holiday to Spain, relax round the pool with a good book and some sunshine, something we will not be getting here by the looks of it so far. This summer is a far cry from the lovely hot summer we had last year. Although the sunshine looks like it will appear for tomorrow at Ascot 🙂

It certainly did not appear last weekend as we attended the Isle of Wight Festival knee deep in mud – that was certainly somewhat of an experience, the music and atmosphere was just fab, but as for the camping in the mud and rain, that took some doing lol.

Then, after the 12 week long break, college will begin. Another milestone.

But amongst our plans throughout the summer, she will also be working hard at her first part time job as a lifeguard, I was immensly proud of her passing the lifeguard course. This job should see her through college and University.

We also have a big dance show which she is busy rehearsing for at the moment, no rest for the wicked.

I hope your summer plans will be special and you make some great family precious moments. 🙂
