Rate My Plate

This week Carol C made headlines in the most funny way on social media with her photo uploaded onto social media site – Rate My Plate.

As it sounds, people upload their culinary creations for comment and feedback from social media users.  Carol’s was somewhat comical and had facebookers in hysterics.

This got me to thinking about my own culinary delights and creations and also dishes I have shared onboard cruises and around the world.

I am not the best cook in the world and would probably put CarolC to shame since my sister in law thought this xmas present a good idea for my kitchen:

I have had some major disasters, setting the xmas pudding alight, [ not intentionally ], meatloaf that turned into a macdonalds, I keep saucepan companies in business I go through so many, xmas just gone I attempted some very suspect looking gingerbread men!!

Epic Fail!

My daughter thankfully did not inherit my cooking skills as you will see from her baking skills….

But this is all for good fun and makes you appreciate just how talented chefs are around the world and onboard cruise ships as they go out of their way to invent and create some spectacular dishes.

Princess cruises has to be in the top cruise lines for best food at sea as I am sure some of you will agree, particularly the Crown Grill…..Steak tartar with quails egg, Surf and Turf followed by a trio of chocolate dessert:

Another top one up there has to be the Qsine restaurant onboard Celebrity cruises….

Now I have yet to experience Wonderland on Royal Caribbean and have heard many wonderful things, along with Le Petit Chef on Celebrity cruises.

Princess also have the best Pizza at sea at Alfredos.

Airplane food in business class is not half bad at all either…

Air canada signature class and then Virgin Upper class..

But its xmas when the big guns come out with some amazing displays, this was from our Xmas dinner last year in the Canadian Rockies

And just for good measure, must have something to accompany the meal lol!!!

But if we are going for my most favourite place where I have eaten, this has to be Annettes in the Florida Keys for surf and turf, simply the best,or possible the king crab from the Arctic we had in Lapland

So what is the most memorable place you have ever eaten,? I am yet to try Tarantula in Vietnam but that is not top of the list at the moment!! I think I will make Le Petit Chef next on the list.
