Top Isle of Wight Festival

As always I like to report back on one of the top highlights of my year, the Isle of Wight festival. This year did not disappoint, weather was fantastic, Clara the camper van got us there in one piece, and we parked up directly opposite the entrance to the main stage, thanks to my top customer Abu Gates who very kindly put me in touch with some friends who own a field where we can park. Thanks again Abu, all those good cruise deals paid off on the end.

I headed over with three friends donned with our wellies and sunscreen, and obviously the odd can of Thatchers Cider and the Vodka, Malibu, Wisky………safe to say we have come home and are all on a little detox at the moment.

Prior to going we had thought the line-up was not so good this year as we felt there were no really big names, and after last year being the 50th Anniversary we thought maybe they are saving a few pennies, but on reflection the line-up was great. Plenty to see each day from old school Sheryl Crow, James, Richard Ashcroft, Keane, Fat Boy Slim, to George Ezra, Biffy Clyro. Hacienda Classical. Gess Glynn pulled out yet again, she did so a couple of years ago so I don’t think she’ll be asked back again.

One of the best highlights was Rick Astley playing and singing Highway to Hell on the drums, quality, I saw him a few weeks back when he supported Take That in Birmingham, he’s a great showman and a really nice guy which I think goes a long way in that industry. Biffy Clyro headlined the weekend, safe to say I have a new favourite band.

Thanks Isle of Wight for yet another top festival, you never disappoint, see you again next year.
