Escaped for Christmas……….

This year I’ve managed to escape the madness of the Festive Season and disappear up North in my Camper Van. After a successful trip over to Southern Ireland last Year we decided to head up North this year towards the Lake District and Northumberland National Park to see how they Celebrate.

We headed off on the 21st December for our own twelve days of Christmas stopping at Keswick for six nights and then heading up to Bellingham for the next six.

Keswick was fantastic, the Site right on the edge of the Lakes so fantastic views when we woke up in the morning and the town was right on our a doorstep, just two-minutes walk full of pubs & great shops to grab an early January sale bargain,  and the Chrismas lights set the scene perfectly.

We managed to cook a full Christmas roast between two Camper Vans which was hilarious and finally finished Christmas lunch at 9pm ha ha!

We’re now in Bellingham in the North East, the town is a little quieter but the locals are just as friendly and the scenery just as pretty.

I must say I’m glad to have my feet firmly on the ground this week after returning from our annual Christmas conference on board the Marco Polo last week. To say it was a little too choppy for me would be an understatement. I’m definitely not doing the Irish sea again in December, two years on the trot is enough for me. However we can laugh about it now, I wasn’t at the time I can tell you that for sure!!!

Here’s to a top 2019 and lots more adventures by land and sea………….
