CARNIVAL hit the HORIZON…………..

Having never sailed on Carnival I was really excited last week to get chance to spend a few nights on board the new Carnival Horizon. After my previous blog from two weeks ago stating that I am a small ship lover I have to say I am on the turn ha ha.

What can I say, amazing is the only word for it. I was a holiday rep for many years overseas so was not put off by the ‘Fun squad’ on board ensuring that all passengers were having as much fun as possible. That is the key word to describe Carnival FUN FUN FUN…………. all the way.

If you are looking to be constantly entertained look no further this is the ship for you. Take a look at some of our best bits………………

Cabins basic, my theory for this is they don’t want you to spend time in it, why would you when there’s so much to do on board, was not too keen on the balcony door situation, prefer a sliding patio door but each to their own…

Top deck, fantastic, loads of room to spread out, lots of different areas if you want fun slides, chill out bars with music whilst relaxing on your lounger, read a book in the quiet adults only Serenity area, they’ve thought of everyone here…

Food, well what can I say, Main Restaurant excellent, Guy’s Burger bar on Pool deck not to be missed, Specialty Restaurants Asian, Italian, Steak, Pig & Anchor, Sushi, Sea food bar, Burrito bar, Market Buffet, the list goes on & on….

Guy’s Burger joint has to be the best burger & fries I’ve had yet on a ship….

We also tried the Pig & Anchor Speciality restaurant one night which was excellent, live country music, fantastic food, they even have their own Micro Brewery on board….

Private area at the back of the ship for Havana Suite guests….

Now for my favourite part entertainment. I spent every night in the piano bar as they had the most amazing talented pianist I’ve ever seen, the atmosphere was magical, as I’m a night owl that does not mean I didn’t try out every other venue, you know me…..watched a show in the Comedy Club, a London comedian who went down really well, the Sports bar was lively, Theatre full of atmosphere. So many bars on board something for everybody. The casino was great with the large electronic flute structure running through the two decks, this was a great feature. My favourite bar was the Havana bar, Merengue, salsa, spanish, latino music, you name it, if you can’t dance you can once you’ve been in there, they even had a Library Bar on board.

The best bits were the Sky obstacle course running around the top of the ship, only if you like heights, we played crazy golf, the sky car ride around the top of the ship was the best thing I’ve done on a ship to date along with the interactive cinema experience. They have a full cinema on board and an interactive experience where the seats move, you get splashed with water, and things touch your legs. We went to the 20 minute fright night experience with ‘Jason Friday the 13th’. Every time Jason slayed one of his victims we got splashed with water as if it was blood, we loved it but obviously not everybody’s cup of tea.

All in all well done Carnival, thank you for a fantastic three days of pure fun, indulgence and superb entertainment, I will be back for more……………
