Drink Packages

Many cruise lines have now started to do drink packages, these are really good for some people but others find them very expensive and they wouldn’t spend the amount they charge on their drinks.

You have Royal Caribbean that often bring the free deluxe drinks packages out for most of there cruises but are they really Free? Royal Caribbean bought this out on Tuesday 13/08/19 but I had a customer that had booked the day before spent £4000 for 2 adults on their cruise the day after when the free drinks package came out the cost for the same cruise went up to £6500 for the 2 of them. So I see that there not free at all.

NCL has changed their promotion where you pay £99 for two offers ie premium drinks, speciality dining, wifi etc so this is a really good deal who wouldn’t pay £99 per person to have two of the offers.

Cunard and P&O are another cruise line that offers a drinks p&o’s drink package start at £39.95 per person per day and this allows you to have 15 alcoholic drinks per day, but Cunard’s drink packages are $69 per person which I find really expensive.

Do you think the drinks packages are good for cruise lines, do you think they’re going in the right direction or have they brought a different clientele to the cruise market?

Don’t get me wrong I love a drinks package included with my cruise not because I spend all day everyday drinking but it’s nice to have a few glasses of wine in the evening with my meal and not have to worry what my bill will be at the end of my cruise.

What are your thoughts?
