I have worked for cruise.co.uk for just over 4 years now.

My experience began in a local travel shop Lunn Poly when I started after qualifying from college with a business and travel Btec. I absolutely loved it! The team was very small and I got involved in all sorts of holidays ranging from a beach holiday in Majorca to safaris in Kenya. Learning on the job was key for me and I had a great mentor.

I worked in various shops including the centre of Manchester and a little village in Lancashire called Rawtenstall which was home to Bubbles from  Absolutely fabulous. I often saw her in the cake shop!

I became a cruise specialist in a shop in Rochdale because there were so many people who loved cruising from that area. I soon went on my first cruise which was the Thomson Spirit! It was brilliant! I was totally bowled over by the amazing service and the food. The entertainment was also fantastic. I was totally converted to cruising.

I moved on from the shops into call centres and had various roles including training and team managers.

When I saw a home working job specialising in cruising I thought to myself ‘that is the perfect job for me!’ I have never looked back!

I have been a cruise specialist now for over 9 years and still love it!

Working at cruise.co.uk gives me the flexibility to work when I want and be available when customers need me. I work with a team of approx 15 other agents and 130 agents in total within the company. We share knowledge, tips and even meet up every year for a conference – usually at sea on a mini cruise.

The opportunity to travel is fantastic! There is always a ship visit or short trip to experience the different cruise lines. I think that we have covered every cruise line between us!

I am so lucky to have been to so many amazing places and met some great people along the way!

My next trip is our first family cruise to the Caribbean in August! Allure of the seas sailing to the Western Caribbean for 7 nights and we are also spending 3 nights in Fort Lauderdale before the cruise. We cannot wait!
