Who’s round is it?

P&O are going to be trialling a drinks package for a month period on the Azura ship.

The trial will run from 21st July for a month. P&O will then decide whether to continue the packages on a more permanent basis.

Personally, I think this is a fantastic move by P&O – so many other cruise lines have drinks packages and this will keep up with the competition.

What I do find strange is all the terms and conditions! Some are pretty ridiculous.

You can only order one drink at a time with a minimum of 15 minutes to wait between drinks. How is this even measured? Is there a timer put on your account every time you order a drink?

Alcoholic drinks are limited to 15 beverages a day! This wouldn’t be an issue for me, however, I have a few friends who would easily put away more than 15 alcoholic drinks!

Even the price doesn’t reflect the package. £39.95pp per day – this has to be purchased on either the first or second day of your cruise and is not available on mini cruises.

This is about the same price that Royal Caribbean and Celebrity cruises charge for their drinks package. I would expect the prices to be more similar to Fred Olsen who charge £15 per person per day which is less than half the price. MSC has the best drinks package I know and they charge only £24pp per nights on a Mediterranean cruise (it is slightly more for the USA)

The real positive message is that at least they are trialling the package. People including myself love an all-inclusive drinks package. It allows you to budget and has a carefree cruise.

P&O are also offering the kiddies package for free if the adults purchase the package.

There are a lot of drinks included, beers, cocktails spirits, soft drinks and coffees.

I question how many will take up on the offer. We will have to wait and see what happens!

Would you purchase the package?

Are you cruising on one of these sailings? What do you think of the terms and conditions? Am I being too harsh?

I would love to hear your thoughts!

Thanks for reading
