Southampton port sees the return of the Independence of the seas

The Independence of the seas has just returned to Southampton after a multi-million pound make over!

This ship has been the most popular ship for Royal Caribbean to sail out of Southampton.

The ship is purpose built for all kinds of weather and this certainly is needed for a summer season in the UK. Not only that but the amazing features on-board make it popular with all ages.

The latest features will not disappoint! Royal Caribbean have upgraded the ship to include some fantastic new features.

Here are some on my favourite new features….

There is a Skypad – my daughter would love this! What child doesn’t like a trampoline? It is a virtual reality trampoline experience – it gives you the experience similar to walking on the moon!

Splashaway bay – a water park with drench buckets, waterslides, cannons. We went to a similar waterpark in Cheshire. The perfect kid’s waterpark. There are also 2 racing slides called the perfect storm – who would you race against?

There are also plenty of Adult only areas on-board if you want to escape the Hussle and bustle. The adult only solarium and sun deck are perfect if you want some relaxing time.

Izumi – tableside cooking at its best in this Asian inspired restaurant

Fish and Ships – enjoy a snack right next to the splashway bay

Sugar beach candy and ice cream – this amazing sweet shop was first introduced on the Symphony of the seas. I am sure it will be very popular!

Laser tag – a glow in the dark arena where you team up and compete for control of the planet! Sounds like great fun. Something the whole family can get involved in.

Amazing new oceanview staterooms
