Merry Christmas!

Are you ready for the big day? Just a few more days now before the reindeers drop Santa down our chimney and the naughty Elf can retire for another year!

It is such a magical time of year! My 6-year-old is so excited and asks every day – is it Christmas yet mummy?

The lead up to Christmas is so lovely! It’s one of my favourite times of the year.

I think they have been rehearsing for the Nativity for at least 6 weeks and I keep hearing little bits of the songs. Ella is a shepherd! The nativity was so funny.. I am looking forward to watching it back on DVD.

Ella also designed her own Christmas cards and they were produced by the school which makes it extra special for family and friends.  

We visited a local farm last week to experience the whole Christmas experience.

It’s not like when I was younger! I just visited Santa and that was it!

At the farm, we were met by elves and taken past Christmas decorations to meet Mrs Christmas who then read the children a story!

The elves then took us to an area to write a letter to Santa with what we wanted for Christmas, then drop the letter in the post box.

Santa was waiting next and Ella would not sit next to him or tell him what she had written on her Christmas list.  

Next, there was a massive sleigh where we could enjoy a photo with the reindeers and Santa.

We then had the opportunity to feed the animals. Thank goodness the rain had stopped because it was so muddy! Good job we wore out wellies.

We fed the donkeys, goats and chickens.

We also looked after the travelling crib from our church for a couple of days.

Christmas day we will have the family round for dinner and maybe some party games!
