Last weekend we attended a garden party at a neighbours house.
Macmillan cancer support is a fantastic charity and one of the largest British charities offering help, support and health care for people affected by cancer.
All money raised went to this amazing charity!
What a beautiful day it was! The sun was shining a little through the clouds and the garden looked beautiful. My neighbour Tom spends a lot of time keeping his garden in bloom and looking perfect!
The party was a great success.
The garden looked beautiful with all the flowers and plants they put up a couple of marquees just in case the weather wasn’t kind but it turned out to be beautiful.
The Major of Oldham attended and said a few words on behalf of the community and thanks to Tom and Doreen for the effort they had made.
They started the fundraising with a competition where you had to guess how many marbles were in the bottle.
Raffle tickets sold – always a great way of making some money. The prizes were good too.
we actually won a prize! A £10 photography voucher
There was a silent auction for a signed Manchester united picture.
It’s always tricky to predict, we went with £75 but the winning bid was over £140
Cake and tea were served for £2.50 each.
I think most people indulged!
The cakes were delicious!
We shared a carrot cake, lemon meringue and chocolate.
I would have liked a glass of fizz with cake ha!
The bring and buy was also a great success. We bought a DVD about a dog hotel and a trinket!
It was a lovely way to get together with all the neighbours and their friends and even better than the money went to an amazing cause
Total money raised was over £1000!
They were over the moon with this and it certainly makes you feel like all the hard work was worthwhile
Thanks for reading!
