A wonderful weekend in London

I have just spent a lovely weekend away in London.

We managed to see a lot of the sights and enjoy fantastic weather too!

We travelled down to London on virgin trains at a cost of £99 return for 2 adults and 1 child

The service was fast only taking just over 2 hours to get to Euston station. We borrowed my stents Oyster cards to use on the underground and the buses. You can check your balance at any of the machines and also top-up. We put £15 on each card.

We travelled to Victoria station on the Victoria line which was approximately 5 stops but only takes 7 minutes.

Each journey has an individual charge which is capped at £5

We walked to our hotel which was about 18 minutes away

The hotel was a Victorian townhouse converted. It was perfect for us, the rooms were s bit small but the staff were fantastic, the breakfast was also great but best of all the ovation was perfect!

The 24 bus stopped right outside which went to Westminster and up to Trafalgar square. Each bus journey costs £1.50 which is fantastic and we just dabbed the Oyster card – think I forgot to mention, kids are free! So Ella travelling throughout London for no charge!!

Our 1st venture out took us to Westminster Abbey the Houses of Parliament Big Ben and after some dinner we went to Trafalgar Square! We caught the bus back to the hotel

The second day we booked a river cruise. The tickets we purchased were all day unlimited travel from Westminster to Greenwich

The tickets cost £39 for the 3 of us. It was by far the best way to see the city when the weather was so good. It kept us cool and the views from the top were fantastic.

We visited Tower of London, The shard, Canary Wharf and the Cutty Sark.

The staff on board pointed out places of interest along the way. It was well worth the money and we had a lovely day.

We finished off the day with a lovely meal in an Italian restaurant just a few doors away from the hotel. It was lovely to relax and enjoy some good food and wine

Have you recently been on a mini-break? Where did you go?

Where would you choose to visit in London?

Thanks for reading

Love Rosie xx
