Changes planned for Mariner of the Seas

Mariner of the Seas will be entering dry dock in March following it’s time in Asia ready for a return to American waters in June 2018.
There will be many new features added to this ship with a mixture of old and new ideas for Royal Caribbean.
They will be adding a surf simulator in line with many of their other ships plus the duo of waterslides Perfect Strom, the escape room and laser tag experience which is also being added to their newest ship Symphony of the Seas.
However they are also adding a few new features never been seen before on any of their ships.
The most exciting new feature is the Skypad. This is a virtual reality bungee trampoline experience suitable for all ages. You wear a headset while jumping over various obstacles as you move through time and planets and whatever else they introduce. For those that prefer to jump without the headset that is also fine especially those that suffer from motion sickness.
There will also be the addition of a brand new venue called the Bamboo Room which is a Polynesian themed bar. This is more my kind of place on holiday and with Tiki Chic décor and specially made cocktails I am sure will be very popular.
There will also be a new sports bar which I should think will be very busy for the world cup season with sporting events, games and pub food.
They will be adding Jamie’s Italian and Izumi as speciality restaurants.
All of the other features remain the same with the old favourites like ice-skating and rock climbing.
The only thing to go will be the dreamworks experience.
It’s great to see the changes they are making. I did cruise on the Mariner a few years ago and the ship was starting to look a little tired on places. I am sure once it is returned from dry dock it will be like a brand new ship.
