P&O Iona important information announced

In May of 2020 P&O Cruises will be launching their newest and largest ship, the Iona. This new ship will be 183,900 tonnes and will carry 5200 guest so pretty mega. In comparison for example the Aurora is 76,152 tonnes with a guest capacity of 1878.

Even though she will be the largest in the fleet she will also be the cleanest running ship due to the fact she will be powered by a new Liquefied Natural Gas system.

This ship will have new ideas and features. One major change P&O have announced is that this new ship will not have any fixed dining times and the ship will only be offering the flexible Freedom dining option. There will be more speciality dining options to choose from and other new features such as the SkyDome, a two-deck glass dome at the top of the ship’s atrium. This will house the “hidden” 710 Club, reminiscent of a Covent Garden nightclub, complete with a cocktail bar; four-screen boutique cinema Ocean Studios, offering both classic films and new releases, as well as the latest in sound technology; and a pool with a retractable stage.

P&O have announced that Iona will be sailing seven day cruises to Norway during her inaugural season from Southampton including destinations such as Geirangerfjord, Stavanger, Alesund and Olden.
