P&O Announce the sale of the P&O Oriana

It doesn’t seem that it was that long ago I blogged on the fact that P&O cruises had sold their small adult-only ship the Adonia and now I have learnt they are selling another one of thier adult-only ships.

This time it is the Oriana that will be sold, a medium sized ship who carries around 1850 guests.

Oriana will be leaving the P&O fleet in August 2019 after completing a Norway and North Cape cruise departing 22nd July 2019. If you want to sail on her there are plenty of cruises before that date still available.

P&O have said that they will be contacting their guests directly about this to give them the news.

There will unfortunately be guests who have made reservations on cruises August 2019 on wards , this is bad news unfortunately for these bookings. P&O cruises have said that if guests transfer to an alternative sailing with them they will offer £50pp extra on-board credit for cruises under 12 nights duration or £75pp for cruises over 12 nights duration.

If guests do not wish to do the above they can cancel with a full refund. Also any cruises not transferred by 28th July 2018 will also get a full refund.

I have not heard at this time what the plans for Oriana will be after she leaves P&O or who has bought her but it will be a shame to see her leave for many guests who enjoy sailing on her. I was just having a detailed conversation with one of my clients just this week who had recently come back from Oriana saying how wonderful she found the whole experience.
