Who has the best show at sea?

Having done a few cruise lines, big and small, I’ve enjoyed several shows on board whether it be the ships own productions from it’s staff right through to famous West End shows.

So far i do think my favorite was ‘We Will Rock You’ on board Anthem of the Seas. I had seen this show before about 10 years ago in London. To see it performed on board the ship was just as brilliant when i saw it in London. The amazing costumes, the sets and of course the fantastic singers. I get goosebumps just remembering it.

I can imagine many seasoned travelers have seen some awesome shows during their cruises. What would would you say was the best show you saw at sea? Share with us in the comments below.

If you aren’t too familiar with the shows that Cruise Lines have to offer take a look at some of the more recent productions –

  • Mamma Mia – Royal Caribbean – Allure of the Seas

Another one from the West End. Everyone deep down loves a bit of Abba i’m sure.

  • Tangled: The Musical – Disney Cruise Line – Disney Magic

Inspired by the fairy tale-turned-Disney-animated-movie story of Rapunzel. Disney brings the same entertainment quality to its onboard shows as it does to its park-based productions and animated blockbusters.

  • Grease – Royal Caribbean – Harmony of the Seas

I was lucky enough to see this show on the launch of the Harmony of the Seas. Not a massive fan of Grease but still thoroughly enjoyed the show. Brilliant cast and great singing.

  • Epic Rock – Carnival Cruises – Several ships

From the sound of this one me and Jonathan would be making sure we had our seat in the theatre. ‘Epic Rock celebrates the glam days of the 1970s and 1980s with hard-driving tunes by Aerosmith, Led Zeppelin and Guns ’n Roses and arena rock staples by artists like Journey and Bon Jovi – all backed by dazzling pyrotechnics, lasers and shooting flames associated with over-the-top rock-and-roll shows. ‘

  • Cirque Du Soleil – MSC – Meraviglia and Bellissima

MSC has partnered with Cirque Du Soleil and the shows have been produced exclusively for MSC Cruises’s 4 Meraviglia Class ships. Some already feature on the Meraviglia and more have just been released on board the new MSC Bellissima.

These are just a sample, there is so much more entertainment for everyone to enjoy on board a cruise.
