Looking forward to a Grand weekend

By the time you read this we will have already watched the first qualifying and will be in bed ready for the next one.

That’s right, Jonathan can finally tick the Singapore Grand Prix off his bucket list as we are heading out for a city break to Singapore over the Grand Prix weekend.

Having never done Singapore before and Jon is a huge F1 fan, safe to say we are looking forward to it. It’s all been quite last minute than i would have liked but hey i’m sure it will be very worth it.

One of the hardest things for me to organize was for other activities for us to do. There is so much to do in Singapore. There’s the famous Gardens by the Bay, various city tours, river cruises, river safari’s, theme parks and so much more. Ideally i needed to wait for the Grand Prix tickets to come through so i could see the schedule.

The races are night time races in Singapore but entry opens between 14.00-15.00 each day. Anything else we want to do would have to be in the morning. The circuit is a street circuit in the Marina Bay area. Hotels aren’t particularly cheap in this area and of course are much dearer over the race weekend. I managed to get us booked in a hotel near the Clarke Quay area. Hotel Clover 5.

I didn’t realize how much actually goes off on race days including the concerts. I could see who would be playing when i looked online but i thought we might have to buy tickets for this when we got there if we wanted to see them. However when the itinerary came through it turns out that any of the concerts that are playing in your zone area are included. So this made me even more excited. There’s Muse, Gwen Stefani, Fatboy Slim and Red Hot Chili Peppers in our zone over the weekend.

I’ll be sure to share my pictures and tips with you once we are home.
