Enjoy Sea Days?

It is great fun planning your cruise and looking forward to visiting new ports or re visiting some of the places you have already been but quite often you will have a sea day between them or maybe even more, some have quite a few and of course the Queen Mary 2 has 7 of them in a row to New York, so how do you fill those days?

For me, I make a bee line for the Spa on the day I board to book myself various massages and treatments, my other half checks for what is happening in the gym and if there is a pub quiz anywhere we will head for that.  The weather might play a part and depending on where you are,  you may just choose to laze around with a good book and a cocktail or 2 or choose to actually spend time together with is hard enough with the busy lives we all lead.

If you are on a River cruise, less sea days but you do have stunning scenery between cities, a splash pool and the outside bar to watch the time go by, they will still  have their quizzes and guest speakers too, I never thought I would be that person that would sit in on a lecture but I have done a few and been surprised by them, don’t rule them out till you try it.

I have spoken to passengers on the transatlantic and they told me they didn’t even have time to go the gym which was a prerequisite of booking the cruise!  The ships put on entertainment every day and more so when all the passengers are on board, do you ever look at the itinerary for the day?

There are some interesting activities if you look out for them, cookery schools – which I am a fan of, the ‘Below Deck Tour’is a popular one too.  Many lectures and talks covering a huge range of things, they are there if you look for them but there is absolutely nothing wrong with taking a day off, you are on holiday of course!

If you have found a particularly good way of spending your sea days, do let me know.
