Only 15 Drinks A Day!

P&O Cruises have just announced that an Ultimate Drinks Package will soon be available to purchase on board their ships starting with Azura on 26th March, followed by Brittania on 7th April, Aurora 8th April, Oceana 18th April and lastly Ventura on 23rd April. The price is £39.95 per person per day and can only be purchased on board on the first two days of your cruise. It is only available on cruises of five nights or longer.

The package includes almost every drink on the bar menus up to £6.95 per drink and is limited to ONLY fifteen alcoholic drinks per day. Personally, I wouldn’t get to half that amount but it seems some may or there would be no need for the limit. If you fancy a drink over £6.95, you will get a 20% discount with the package.

Currently, if you are travelling with children and you buy this deal, you will receive the Children’s package at no extra cost.

There are of course conditions such as all adults sharing a cabin must buy the same and only one drink can be ordered at a time for each person.

More and more now we are asked if the cruise is all inclusive and we have seen Norwegian Cruise Line and Marella change to this recently.

Of course it is nice to go away and not have any nasty bills at the end of your trip and drinks can add up quickly especially on the days at sea.  I think that having this to purchase does give you the choice rather than the cruise lines who include it in their increased fares. On a lazy day on board, I may have a few tipples but on a busy shore day when I am off the ship most of the day, I would not get my money’s worth.

What do you think? Is it a good idea or encouraging drinking? Will it be harder to get served at a bar?
