World Cup fever grips Princess Cruises

Princess Cruises have announced it will screen all 64 games of the World Cup in Russia on nine of its ships. The line will broadcast every minute of the action, from the opening match on June 14 to the final in Moscow on July 15.

The games will be show on their ‘Movies under the stars’ screens which are located on Lido deck by the pool areas.

World Cup games will be shown on both the Sapphire Princess and Royal Princess cruise ships, which are based in Southampton. During this time Sapphire Princess will depart on a series of round trip voyages to Northern Europe, while Royal Princess is sailing a season around the British Isles. Games will also be shown on Pacific Princess, which is based in Dover and sailing to destinations across northern Europe.

Guests can also take part in themed entertainment and activities on board including interactive PlayStation game play on Movies Under the Stars,  penalty shoot outs, football giveaways and themed food and drink.

Six other ships will also screen the tournament too.  Diamond who is in Japan, Emerald who is in Alaska, Crown who is in the Mediterranean, Majestic who is in China, Regal who is actually doing Baltic sailings so closer to the games and Sea Princess who is on its’s World Cruise.

So if you were trying to get away from the ‘Greatest show on Earth’ there are plenty of other interesting things to below deck or a higher deck on these ships, just check your Itinerary on board as football is not everyone’s cup of tea.
